





Simone Monte (b. São Paulo) is an award-winning Brazilian photographer. She has an academic background in Drama & Theatre Arts, which led her to begin her career as a stage and video actress engaged in experimental projects involving art, performance, music, dance, and literature. She turned to photography in 2010, when she discovered the medium that best captured her way of creative storytelling.
Monte took her first steps as a photographer within São Paulo's high fashion world, shooting magazine editorials and campaigns for important local brands. Soon after, she embraced her own personal projects, the first of which awarded her an Honorable Mention in the 2015 National Geographic Photo Contest for her photograph “The Game” (Rio series).
As a former actress, restaurateur, model, and now photographer, videographer, and writer, Simone Monte is a multi-talented creative. She is currently based between Rome and São Paulo, where she continues to bring her vision to life through black-and-white, essayistic works.
