CÉCILE PLAISANCE
PERCORSO ARTISTICO

ABOUT
Cécile Plaisance is a French photographer whose practice interrogates femininity, consumer culture and beauty standards through a blend of pop aesthetics, irony and refined technique. She holds a degree in Economics and Commerce from the Université Paris-Dauphine and spent a decade in Europe’s financial sector before dedicating herself fully to photography.
Her work stands out for its use of lenticular photographic techniques — images that shift according to the viewer’s angle — and the staging of cultural icons such as the Barbie doll, burkas or nun’s habits in images that oscillate between object of desire and empowered subject.
Plaisance has developed a visual language that straddles glamour and social critique, spectacle and feminist consciousness. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in distinguished private and corporate collections
