Espinasse31 Meets Warhol

JUNE 16TH, 2017

“Don’t worry, make art” is widely considered to be the manifesto of American Pop Art.

“Everyone understands an Andy Warhol piece, some people enjoy his works others hate them, but it’s meaning is understandable by everyone”. Considered today as the first icon of popular art, Warhol continues to attract thousands of visitors and to arouse curiosity and interest.

Espinasse31 Artist’s Residency   second official event in Milano, will focus on the silkscreen process to explore, produce and stimulate the aesthetic and critical thinking of artists and visitors. An unusual and innovative approach to the Pop world, enabling visitors to buy some limited edition silk-screen prints directly on June 16, produced during the event by Daniel Antonio Tummolillo, professor of the Serigraph Printing Course at the Academy of Brera. The Milanese residence will guide visitors into the world of international pop art, through the works of some of the most influential and prolific international creators. Double-stranded with the city of Miami, where many of the artists come from, Espinasse 31 will involve visitors in the process of screen printing during the live performance, welcoming the public into our large family where you can transform familiarity into success, just as Warhol was able to do!

Recognized at first glance for their original aesthetic sense, all the artists present at the event already have a long list of international publications and exhibitions:

Jotape is a Brazilian-born artist, active between Miami and Sao Paulo. The artist’s works, created through color and resin, could be defined as abstract paintings with pop effects. He has performed at countless editions of Art Basel Miami, and in galleries such as the Nan Miller Gallery or Aspen Grove Fine Arts.
