BIENNALE DI VENEZIA 2024
PERSONAL STRUCTURES - BEYOND BOUNDARIES
20 APRIL | 24 NOVEMBER
Olga Lomaka's latest sculpture, "Screaming Sky," will be showcased at the European Cultural Centre's exhibition during the 60th International Art Exhibition (La Biennale di Venezia) from April 20th to November 24th, 2024. The exhibition, titled "Personal Structures - Beyond Boundaries," will be held at esteemed venues including Palazzo Bembo, Palazzo Mora, and Marinaressa Gardens.
The theme of the exhibition, "Beyond Boundaries," aims to challenge both physical and conceptual limits, inviting viewers to explore perspectives beyond the familiar. Lomaka's sculpture, part of her ongoing project "Alien," delves into profound themes such as human desire, the collective unconscious, and the sense of alienation through contemporary popular culture.
"Screaming Sky" is a testament to Lomaka's exploration of humanity's relationship with the unknown. It embodies two contrasting states, screaming and meditation, offering a nuanced reflection of our own processes and ways of existence. Positioned within the Giardini Marinaressa, the sculpture invites viewers to contemplate the boundaries that define us and the possibilities that lie beyond.
As part of the larger ECC Art Biennial exhibition, Lomaka's work will be among many others navigating the intricate global landscape through various mediums. The exhibition promises to offer insights that extend beyond the conventional, fostering new conversations and perspectives.
