About EPINASSE31 CONTEMPORARY ART GALLERY
Espinasse31 Contemporary Art Gallery aims to:
Offer the artists a platform to showcase their artwork and create artistic and social opportunities that engage with art, education, conservation, and sustainability.
Stimulate artistic initiatives. The gallery has built a reputation for its dedication to artists and support of visionary artistic projects worldwide. It has expanded over the last years with new exhibition spaces in Milan, Madrid, Monte Carlo and Miami.
Create a community based around Espinasse31 through intercultural dialogue around fashion, design and all artistic approaches, encouraging collaboration and interdisciplinary exchange of ideas among the local community and the artists represented.
Exploring, producing and stimulating aesthetic and critical thinking as well as public engagement through social intervention in art. Espinasse31 brings art and culture closer to every kind of public, making them aware of different forms of art, endorsing them as fundamental elements of a cultural self-consciousness.
Our artist residency aims to:
Bring to Milan pop and street artists from all over the world. Street artists are widely considered to be the 21st century’s “globe trotters”, leaving their trademark as they travel worldwide. The artists are hosted by Espinasse31 in the inspiring spaces of a former print factory for 3/4 week-long periods, during which they can work either alone or in collaboration with other artists.
Encourage the exchange of ideas, techniques, and artistic languages, in order to bring to life groundbreaking and previously unseen works. Espinasse31´s street artists are strictly selected by their ability to transpose their murals into fascinating indoor works, and by their curriculum. Each residency project ends with an event and a group exhibition
Since its beginnings, Espinasse31 has had a strong connection with the world of fashion. We recognize the convergence between the disciplines of fine art and fashion, aiming to promote their union as markets and forms of creative expression. We believe that fashion, like art, is a form of democracy in which everybody has the right to their won opinion and individuality.
Many of the artists we exhibit, and host in residency, engage in multidisciplinary work and owe their creative beginnings to the fashion industry. Our Milan gallery has hosted various events centered on this theme: “Street & Pop Meet Fashion” (2017), “Art Fucks Fashion” (2018) , and “Art & Fashion Aperitivo” (2019).
Some of our most acclaimed collaborations include Armani Exchange Capsule Collection with Jenny Perez; Gas Jeans Capsule Collection with Adam Lucey and Mr & Mrs Italy Capsule Collection with Alvise Ranieri.

EPINASSE31 AND THE CONTEMPORARY MURALISM
Over the past few decades, Street and Urban Art have become very popular thanks to figures such as Keith Haring, Banksy or Shepard Fairey.
After a first phase, during which it was impregnated with political references and widely seen as a social provocation, urban art has experienced a massive evolution. Many exponents of this form of art have softened their aggressive approach, in order to encourage the masses to get involved in their work, rather than provoking them with it. The Street Art market is distinguished from the traditional art market or so called “establishment” by its varied target audience and collector profile. This is mainly possible through the circulation of multiples, editions and works at more affordable prices. With that said, originals and limited editions have seen a steady rise in prices in the last decade, making street art one of the most interesting art forms to invest in.
