VIALE CARLO ESPINASSE, 31
On the occasion of Fuori Salone 2022 - Tra Spazio e Tempo, Espinasse31 Contemporary Art Gallery Milan is pleased to present ART & DESIGN II, a group exhibition that brings together our outstanding artists and designers from May 19 to July 2, 11am to 7pm.
Espinasse31 combines art and design in an event that goes beyond the Salone del Mobile with an exhibition that aims to be a landmark in an revalued area: Portello. ART&DESIGN II takes part of the Milan urban redevelopment project, a territorial rebirth from Citylife to the Alfa Romeo Park that involves creativity in all its forms: futuristic architecture, Dante’s parks, contemporary sculptures, daring residences.
The selected artists, coming from different parts of the world, bring their experiences as architects and designers in the way they work with material and colors. Carlos Cesare Alves' artworks encompass both expressionist and geometric variants of abstraction. He uses resin, a medium that the artist has truly mastered over the years. Fabio Pietrantonio decorates the rooms with artworks sculptures that depict cosmic balance and harmony and transmit peacefulness. Marcello Silvestre' sculptures, while climbing the walls, explore themes such as the relationship between man and the soul, the concept of time, the oneiric world of modern urban landscapes, and human spirituality. Oscar Estruga can be defined as an artist who recreates and reinvents Ancient Worlds, taking inspiration from the mythology of Greek and Cycladic cultures. He is an author of monumental works such as Ariadna en el circulo, present in prestigious private collections such as the Spanish bank BBVA. His sculptures create surreal atmospheres in modern environments such as the Hadid residences' Lobby C4 in City Life, Milan. Robi Walters, Aston Martin's Artist in Residence, focuses on the practice of taking discarded objects and making them beautiful to revivify their intrinsic worth—with a creative process and product that is reminiscent of both pop art and arte povera movements. Luiz Philippe, a Brazilian artist known worldwide with artworks in private and public collections such as Gilberto Chateaubriand, Collection Solo and the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro. Two masterpieces will be exhibited: Swimming Pool I (2020) and Untitled (Cross Legged Chair) for the first time in Italy.
Espinasse31 inhabites its space with artworks and design furniture, proposing avant-garde pieces such as the limited edition SAHRAI rugs of the Germano-Brasileiro Collection designed by the Brazilian artist David Elia, whose works are present in prestigious collections such as the François Pinault Collection and the Museum of Arts & Design in New York.
The space recreates some contemporary domestic environments that the visitor will deeply enjoy, from the first NFT room, a surreal setting created by the Argentine artist Carolina Toncovich. The infinity QR Code Room is completely covered with QR codes that allow you to connect directly to the NFTs of international artists, also displayed on the screens in the other gallery's rooms. The aim is to offer a new approach to the world of crypto-art, after the successful experience in April with the SAMSUNG corner at the MEDIAWORD store in Milan. Espinasse31 partnered with SAHRAI for the Salone Del Mobile 2022, creating a unique NFT collection animating some of the prestigious rugs of the brand such as Gravity, part of the Noor Collection which been conceived to respond to the needs of Modern living: marrying the Italian style with deluxe textures to produce a beautifully distinctive range of contemporary masterpieces.
ART&DESIGN II praises the balanced synergy between Art and Design: each work of art celebrates the elegant lines of the fittings, each piece of furniture enhances the shapes of the contemporary sculptures. Espinasse31 dedicates its spaces to living and experiencing Art. The visitors will travel in a mix of art and design where they can discover through their senses every corners of the gallery until they reach the rooftop. The art space is transformed into a domus aurea devoted to art and design, two of the most creative and pleasant art forms to see and live.
